Access Statement

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.

Introduction

The Inn is situated in the Upper Eden Valley on Main Street, the old A66, in the village of Brough which, up until the 19th century, was the ancient Market and Assize town for this part of Westmorland, now unfortunately amalgamated into the county of Cumbria.

There is a general store and post office in the village, and we are only 4 miles from the small town of Kirkby Stephen which offers a range of shops and facilities and is (almost) on the Carlisle to Settle historic railway. There are several golf courses and fishing nearby, a plethora of walks are in the close vicinity. The North York Moors, Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District are within easy daily reach.

We offer 12 rooms and 2 luxury suites in the main building including a large family room and a disabled friendly double room and 2 bedroom suite in a bungalow in the car park.

Provision of access for mobility impaired guests has been difficult as The Inn dates to 1760 and is a grade 2 listed building; however during our total restoration we have been able to provide wheelchair access to our Georgian Restaurant, Castle and Lounge Bars, Reception and Function Rooms. Access to our main restaurant is up 2 steps and on two levels so may not be accessible.

We look forward to welcoming you. If you have any queries or require any assistance please phone +44(0)1768 341252 or email bookings@theinnatbrough.co.uk.
